Congratulations! Taking a college course while in high school has many benefits, most importantly, helping you become more prepared for the academic expectations of college.
Dual enrollment courses have been identified by your school district as having a higher level of academic rigor and TCNJ agrees! Therefore, we are awarding you TCNJ credits for the coursework completed throughout the academic year.
Credits are transferrable to other higher education institutions – saving valuable time and money.
Dual Enrollment Process:
- Enroll in the course at your high school that is approved for Dual Enrollment.
- Register and pay for TCNJ credits by Friday, November 14th. You must register separately for each course and will be charged per course.
- Participate and excel in your high school course. Be sure to complete all assignments and meet all attendance requirements throughout the school year.
- At the end of the course, your teacher will submit grades to TCNJ. Students need to earn a grade of C or higher to earn TCNJ credit.
- Transcripts are available at the beginning of August. Please visit that specific webpage for more information.
A few things to know:
- Students who register for TCNJ credits will be enrolled as non-matriculating TCNJ students, enabling them access to TCNJ library services. This benefit will not be available until after Jan. 2026.
- Students applying to TCNJ will have their application fee waved ($65).
- The grades earned in dual enrollment courses are included in the GPA calculation for future TCNJ students.
- Dual Enrolled course equivalencies in a content area are subject to change. Credit is granted at the discretion of the department.
